Rachel Neil, Principal, Women’s Legal Service Queensland will be the special guest presenter at the Branch’s April 2019 meeting at Albany Creek Library. Rachel will discuss the relevant provisions of Queensland’s Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012 as they relate to the functions undertaken by Justices of the Peace and Commissioners for Declarations. She will also explain the range of important services provided by the Women’s Legal Service Queensland in supporting victims of domestic and family violence.
This session will provide a unique opportunity for JPs and Cdecs to acquire a more informed understanding of all the issues associated with Domestic and Family Violence documents they are authorised to witness.
At the conclusion of Rachel’s presentation, normal Branch general meeting business will be discussed.
